Admission Requirements

For students entering Wharton, the following documents are required before enrollment can be completed. Students must have completed eighth grade as evidenced by a school transcript.

Lower School

Proof of Age
A certified birth certificate or other official proof of age.
Students must meet age requirements based on Nevada state regulations:

Grade 1: Must be at least 6 years old by September 30 of the enrollment year.

Grades 2-5: Must meet the age-appropriate placement based on prior school records.

School Records (For Grades 2-5 Only)
For Grades 2-5: Official transcripts or report cards from the previous school year (or equivalent academic record).
For Grade 1: No transcript is required, but a kindergarten completion certificate or a letter from a parent/guardian confirming prior early education (if applicable) may be submitted.
Immunization Records (As Required by Nevada Law)
Up-to-date immunization records in compliance with Nevada state requirements, including:

DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis)

Polio

Hepatitis A & B

MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)

Varicella (Chickenpox)

Exemptions: Medical or religious exemption documentation must be submitted if applicable.
Proof of Residency or Guardian Information (Domestic Students Only)
A government-issued identity card (passport, state ID, or other legal documentation).
Legal guardianship documentation (if applicable).
English Proficiency Test (If Applicable)
If the student’s first language is not English, an assessment may be required to determine the need for ESL support.
English language learners may be required to take the Duolingo English Test (DET), TOEFL Primary, or another standardized English test OR enroll in Wharton’s ESL Support Program.
Parent/Guardian Statement of Financial Support
Documentation proving financial support for tuition and related school expenses.
Student Questionnaire (For Grades 3-5 Only)
A short student-written response (for Grades 3-5) answering the question:

"What do you enjoy most about learning and why?"

Middle School

Official transcripts from the previous two (2) school years (and most up-to-date progress report).

English Proficiency Test Result- If your first language is not English, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and score a minimum of 55 or above, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and score a minimum of 5.0 or above, or the Duolingo English Test (DET) and score a minimum of 85 or above. If English is your first language, but you speak another language at home, you may consider submitting English proficiency results to demonstrate fluency or take Wharton 16-Weeks intensive ESL course.

Official birth certificate (or other acceptable proof of age, he or she is considered "age-appropriate" for ninth grade and may enroll in Wharton program).

Documentation of Financial Support.

Official government provided an identity card.

Admissions Essay

What about being a student at Wharton School most excites you?

High School

Official transcripts from the previous two (2) school years (and most up-to-date progress report).

One (1) standardized test score from the previous two years ( If the student does not have standardized test records (i.e. SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, SAT, or ACT.) contact the Office of Admissions and arrangements will be made for Math and English standardized testing).

English Proficiency Test Result- If your first language is not English, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and score a minimum of 60 or above, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and score a minimum of 5.5 or above, or the Duolingo English Test (DET) and score a minimum of 90 or above. If English is your first language, but you speak another language at home, you may consider submitting English proficiency results to demonstrate fluency or take Wharton 16-Weeks intensive ESL course.
